Uma Thurman was among the new nominees announced for the Hollywood Walk of Fame's Class of 2023.
It has been announced that Uma Thurman will be bestowed with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, and this news will certainly have many cinephiles feeling that it's about time. On Friday, the full list was revealed after selections were whittled down from more hundreds of nominees. In a video you can watch below, per Variety, Walk of Fame Selection Panel Chairwoman and Walk of Famer Ellen K divulges the complete list.
Thurman's nomination represents the category of Motion Pictures. Fellow actors joining her with their own nominations are Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Bill Pullman, Vince Vaughn, and John Waters. Paul Walker and Juanita Moore will also be posthumously inducted. On the TV side, The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau has been nominated alongside Mindy Kaling, Martin Lawrence, Ralph Macchio, Garrett Morris, and Ellen Pompeo.
In a statement, Ellen K said, "The panel thoughtfully selected these talented individuals and we can’t wait to celebrate them as they become part of Hollywood's history with the unveiling of their star on the world's most famous walkway!"
Uma Thurman has been widely celebrated for her acting work, which notably includes starring in multiple Quentin Tarantino films. She rose to fame in the 1994 classic Pulp Fiction as Mia Wallace, a role that earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Tarantino put Thurman into the central role when he cast her as the lead in the Kill Bill movies which consisted of two installments released in 2003 and 2004. The filmmaker has teased doing Kill Bill 3 with Thurman as his final feature film, but she doesn't see that happening anytime soon.
“I can’t really tell you anything about it," Thurman said of Kill Bill 3 in February. "I mean it has been discussed over the years. There was real thought about it happening, but very long ago. I don’t see it as immediately on the horizon. I hate to disappoint people. Everybody wishes it would be the case, but I think it’s not immediately on the horizon.”
Throughout the years, Thurman has had many memorable roles in other films including Batman & Robin, Les Miserables, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. More recently, she appeared in the teen drama Hollywood Stargirl which premiered on Disney+ earlier this month. She has also recently been seen in main roles in the TV shows Chambers, Suspicion, and Super Pumped.
Thurman is also set to reunite with Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill co-star Samuel L. Jackson in the upcoming comedy thriller The Kill Room, which also stars Joe Manganiello and WWE's Liv Morgan. It was recently reported that Thurman had also been cast in the role of U.S. President Ellen Claremont in Amazon's upcoming romantic comedy Madam President. With so much great work behind her and even more that's yet to come, Thurman is more than deserving to be named as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2023.
